Data integration between the UGA Office of Research Grants application (grant.ovpr.uga.edu) and People Soft - PS data gathered is from a MYSQL server and sent to Grants using the web services of the framework - deployed as a cron job to a java installation
Deployed as a java cron job, this would parse through LDAP logs and extract relevant information for each connection hitting the UGA Office of Research LDAP server. We did not have a good way of monitoring that traffic, hence this project. The log files were parsed, data extracted and inserted into a MYSQL database - however down the road i realized that this was not the best way to organize the data. The data was view-able from a web application - as the table data increased in size, the application performance started to suffer. The project was rushed and not well thought out, but was a good learning experience.
