Run the program with IDE

If you are using Eclipse with Spring Tool Suite. You can open the project with Eclipse. Then run it by right clicking on Application.java, choose "Run As Spring Boot Application".

Package into a self executable jar

If you are using Gradle, you can run the application using ./gradlew bootRun. Or you can build the JAR file using ./gradlew build. Then you can run the JAR file:

java -jar build/libs/gs-rest-service-0.1.0.jar

Logging output is displayed. The service should be up and running within a few seconds.

Example:

yuan@mac:~/workspace/sde/asi/gs-rest-service/complete$ ./gradlew build

yuan@mac:~/workspace/sde/asi/gs-rest-service/complete$ java -jar build/libs/gs-rest-service-0.1.0.jar
