Wastewater-Heat-Recovery-Models

This repository contains the different models developed for evaluating heat recovery from wastewater. The models are developed as a part of the FORMAS funded project HÅVA (Sustainable heat recovery from wastewater). The models are developed by Lund University and RISE.

Models for different components of the urban wastewater system are developed.

1. Wastewater generation model
This model generates flow rate, pollutant concentration and temperature values for households. Add more desc.

WWHR

The models are described in the following paper

Wärff, C., Arnell, M., Sehlén, R., & Jeppsson, U. (2020). Modelling heat recovery potential from household wastewater. Water Science and Technology, 81(8), 1597–1605.

2. Sewer heat transfer model
This model describes the major heat transfer processes in sewer systems (both gravity sewers and rising mains). Both temperature and flow rate variations can be described using the model.

The models are described in the following paper

3. Plant-wide energy balance model for WWTPs

The models are described in the following papers

4. Heat Recovery Equipment Models
This model consists of heat exchanger and heat pump models that can be used to evaluate various heat recovery scenarios. The models simulate outgoing temperature as well as energy recovered from the heat recovery equipment.
