Chisel used to be a commercial tool available from Trapezium Development LLC. It is no longer developed be Trapezium and its creators, Michael St. Hippolyte and Joh Johannsen staff of Trapezium, generously placed the code and software in the public domain. Michael Louka fixed some bugs and added a new "Simplify DEF names" chisel, and released this updated version as Chisel 2.1 (HVRC Edition) via the Halden VR Centre web site in 2005. D. G. van der Laan has contributed support for preserving texCoord and texCoordIndex fields when joining shapes by color. This is unsupported freeware.
