Their-Eyes-Were-Watching-God-DALL-E

Using a modified version of OpenAI’s DALL-E machine learning model, we created image representations of Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God . We do so by utilizing pieces of text as inputs into the model. More specifically, we use pieces of text that capture Janie, the main protagonist of the novel, and her experiences with love. These quotes aim to demonstrate not only what Janie finds to be love but also how Janie experiences love. In doing so, we try to question and answer: what is love to Janie? Do we see Janie’s definition of love change over time? How do her experiences effect that definition?
