Explorer restarts endlessly when opening the Start Menu

nvm fixed it
just wait a couple of minutes and te start menu will be fine

Did you let Explorer Patcher finish downloading symbols? Mine restarted multiple times when I opened the start menu after turning on my laptop after the latest windows update - but working fine after symbols have been downloaded and restarted explorer patcher

I was getting the same issue, waiting didn't seem to help. installing the pre-release version instead (can be enabled in the explorer patcher update settings) fixed it for me. After the pre-release is installed you disable downloading pre-releases for the future.

It might have been because symbols weren't being downloaded - they got redownloaded after installing the pre-release, but I don't think so since i waited for ages and tried restarting file explorer a bunch of times before installing the pre-release.

This happened after the l installed windows updates - I'm on Windows 11 23H2 22631.3737 now.

It might be worth expediting an official release?

I solved the problem by manually downloading the latest ep_setup.exe and updating (reinstalling) ExplorerPatcher.

ohh thats what the problem was

Always wait until the symbols have finished downloading if it is telling you that it is downloading symbols: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/Symbols

Unfortunately MS flags new distributed builds of EP as virus so this has to be done with utmost care...
