StumpWM Configuration

This is my personal StumpWM setup. Note that it uses the Emacspeak text-to-speech speech server to add speech to StumpWM. This speech enables StumpVM so that many operations, such as changing windows, frames or groups, provide spoken feedback. Without a working Emacspeak setup, this configuration will not work.

Org Mode

I use Emacs extensively and take advantage of the powerful org-mode. In particular, I use org-mode’s tangle facility to embed my code in org files and from there, generate the final output file.

In this case, the code is located in the stumpwmrc.org file. Using org-babel-tangle, you can generate a stumpwmrc.lisp file. I then do a symbolic link from that file to ~/.stumpwmrc

StumpWM Modules

I use a number of the stumpwm modules. These are located in $HOME/.stumpwm.d/modules. What I tend to do is just checkout the contrib repository into this directory and use the modules from there. This allows a fast update of modules by just doing git pull.

StumpWM Sources

I run both SBCL and StumpWM from the sources rather than from my distributions packages as I like to be up-to-date. For SBCL, I just install the latest binary package from the SBCL project homepage. For stumpwm, I build from the git sources.
