To run the app first you need to have an active backend running or use the deployed backend.
To run the backend there are two options:
For this option there is no need to make changes.
The backend is deployed in: https://wallendar.herokuapp.com/
For this option you have to create the PostgreSQL database locally, you can do this inside a docker or not:
You must have docker and docker-compose installed and run the make inside the wallendar-backend folder.
make
You must have at least PostgreSQL 9.5 installed and execute the following commands:
sudo -u postgres psql
create database "wallendar-db";
create user "wallendar-db-owner" with encrypted password 'j17DgpslK';
grant all privileges on database "wallendar-db" to "wallendar-db-owner";
Now that you selected wich backend to use:
You have to change the .baseUrl() parameter in the provideRetrofit function in app/di/DependenciesModule Java class so that it is like this:
return new Retrofit.Builder()
.baseUrl("https://wallendar.herokuapp.com/")
.addConverterFactory(GsonConverterFactory.create())
.addCallAdapterFactory(RxJava2CallAdapterFactory.create())
.build();
You have to change the .baseUrl() parameter in the provideRetrofit function in app/di/DependenciesModule Java class with the IP address that the backend is hosted:
Change IP_WHERE_IT_IS_HOSTED accordingly
return new Retrofit.Builder()
.baseUrl("IP_WHERE_IT_IS_HOSTED")
.addConverterFactory(GsonConverterFactory.create())
.addCallAdapterFactory(RxJava2CallAdapterFactory.create())
.build();
