chip8

Simple (work in progress) chip8 emulator written in C++11 using SDL implemented per Cowgod's Chip-8 Technical Reference v1.0 and CHIP-8 Wikipedia page.

Prerequisites

• C++ compiler (Tested with clang on OS X 10.11 and Ubuntu 15.10 and VS2015 on Windows 10)
• SDL2

How to use

$ git clone https://github.com/stevensona/chip8.git
$ cd chip8
$ make
$ ./chip8 <input file>

Controls

The CHIP-8 uses a 16-key keypad and is mapped to the following keys:

 1 2 3 4
 q w e r
 a s d f
 z x c v

What's left?

• Sound
• There may be a few instructions outstanding
• More command line options (toggle verbose output)
• Identify/fix bugs
