CAN ERROR: Check Connection

I have a 2020 sonata. The normal comma.ai works fine, tried installing this and I get that error. Cables and connections are good. Any advice?
I have a new branch that's on 0.8.7, so it should work for it if stock does. Will be replacing stock_additions branch soon
