A Simple Generator Application

Installation

Install globally

npm install -g softgen

Installed CLI application is accessible through gen or softgen commands

AVAILABLE GENERATORS

1. UUID - Generate uuid string - gen uuid
2. random - generate random characters - gen random
3. lorem ipsum - Generate lorem ipsum text - gen lorem

Help

To see available generators check help

gen help

help argument can be used for more advanced options for each generator

gen <generator> --help

Eg:

gen uuid --help

Will print more details and options for that generator

Generators

UUID

gen uuid # generates a uuid

By default generated uuid is copied to clipboard

To disable copying to clipboard

gen uuid --no-copy

Generate n number of ids

gen uuid 10

Random string generator

gen random #generates a random string

default length is 40

To disable copying to clipboard

gen random --no-copy

Generate n character length (default length 40)

gen random n

Generate n character length of x ids (default length 40 , no. of ids 1)

gen random n x
