Demo of a web service for the public & AEC professionals to visualize regulatory code as it relates to a given property


Concept

Find relevant regulatory code pertaining to a given property. This app focuses only on the Carpenteria, CA area and allows the user to click on any parcel and retrieve relevant setback information to be used within BIM via a Dynamo graph.

Dependancies

This repository makes use of the following:

  • The platform react for the frontend
  • For the map to select the property and retrieve the layers of rich information this uses ArcGIS
  • The use of spaCy for its industrial strength NLP processing
  • And last but not least, flask which the api is built on

Installation Frontend

  1. First navigate to /frontend folder
  2. run yarn install to install dependancies
  3. then run yarn start
  4. Frontend Development server will start

Installation Backend

  1. First navigate to /api folder
  2. First run pipenv shell
  3. then create an env variable $env:FLASK_APP = ".\main.py"
  4. then run flask run
  5. API Development server will start
