Cronex

CLI to parse a cron string and expands each field to show the times at which it will run.

Installation

Install the gem and add to the application's Gemfile by executing:

$ bundle add cronex

If bundler is not being used to manage dependencies, install the gem by executing:

$ gem install cronex

Usage

Supply cron string to as an argumen to cronex CLI app:

cronex "*/15 0 1,15 * 1-5 /usr/bin/find"

Sample output:

minute 0 15 30 45
hour 0
day of month 1 15
month 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12
day of week 1 2 3 4 5
command /usr/bin/find

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and the created tag, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
