The contract for Group 22 of DSCI100.

Formulate and answer a predictive question about a dataset of your choice using either classification or regression. Present the full analysis, from reading the data to communicating results.

1.0 Goals

1.1 What are our team goals for this project?

  1. To formulate and answer a predictive question about a dataset of our choice using either classification or regression. To present the full analysis, from reading the data to communicating the results.
  2. To strongly develop our knowledge using python and the information we have learned in class.

1.2 What do we want to accomplish?

  1. We will aim to complete a full analysis, from reading the data chosen to communicating the results. We will aim to develop or refine the new skills outlined in section 1.3

  1. We will strive to develop our skills in Python.
  2. We will strive to develop our project management skills.
  3. We will strive to refine our communication skills.
  4. We will strive to refine our skills in providing and receiving feedback from others.
  5. We will strive to refine our active listening skills.
  6. We will strive to learn from each other as everyone of us has something to teach.
  7. We will strive to challenge our assumptions to learn more than we would have otherwise.

2.0 Expectations

  1. All communication will be through the DSCI 100 group created on Instagram Direct Messages, by email with all group members CCed, or through the group on Canvas.
  2. All members must respond within a reasonable timeframe.
  3. All members of the group will complete all assigned tasks to the best of their abilities, with the resources available to them.
  4. Members of the group will complete all assigned tasks before the deadline agreed upon by the group. The assigned tasked will be submitted 8 hours before the due date, as specified in section 3.3. Upon submission, the other group members will review the task within a reasonable timeframe and provide critique, edits and/or feedback. If a member is not able to complete an assigned task, they must follow the procedures as outlined in section 3.1.
  5. Any critique, edits and/or feedback provided by the group, to an assigned task performed by another member of the group, must be considered, reviewed and ultimately amended if the group agrees that it is required.
  6. Every member will provided the opportunity to voice their opinion, provide insight, or comment on any decisions, assignment of tasks, deadlines, or expectations. This includes during in-person meetings, virtual meetings, or group chats.
  7. No major decision will be made without the majority (> 50) of the group agreeing.
  8. Each and every member of the group will responsible for providing a respectful and welcoming environment. Disagreements can be conducive to improving the goals of the project, but must remain respectful and factual.
  9. All group members must follow the Code of Conduct as outlined within the syllabus of course DSCI 100

3.0 Policies & Procedures

  1. If, for any reason, a member of the group is unable to complete an assigned task, they must contact the group through one of the approved modes of communication (section 3.1) either, as soon as they are aware they will be unable to complete the assigned task, or a 24 hours before the due date for the assigned task. Whichever comes first.
  2. No members of the group will attend meetings if they are sick, or experiencing symptoms of illness such as the flu or COVID-19.
  3. Any assigned tasks will be completed and submitted to the team 8 hours before the due date.
  4. Members are expected to be responsive to feedback and make necessary revisions to their work based on the input provided by their peers.

4.0 Consequences

  1. If a member of the group does not fulfill the outlined goals, expectations and procedures outlined within this contract, an initial warning shall be made by the rest of the group to the member who has not fulfilled his duties, as written within this contract.
  2. Continued infractions by a member of the group may lead to the member being reported to a course TA or professor.
