a replacement for vdr-addon-lifeguard, run it as a service (as root), call it via dbus from everywhere without need for root permissions

check-lifeguard

run check-lifeguard to ask lifeguard-ng wether a save shutdown is possible.

Example:

$ ./check-lifeguard
