When scraping, or otherwise loading and converting data from diverse sources, numbers and dates can be in various formats and need converting to simple numbers.

Some examples:

• 1,201.22 --> 1201.22
• £10101.22 --> 10101.22
• ($5.4) --> -5.4

Scrumble has various functions for processing cases like that.
