What is Pokémon Darkfire?

Pokémon Darkfire is a former binary ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald. This ROM hack features a dark & gritty storyline and a brand new region to explore! It is currently being redeveloped using the pokeemerald decompilation project, along with a small collection of other feature branches.

What feature branches are included?

• Battle Engine Upgrade: Upgrades the battle engine to newer Generation games' standards by adding newer moves and abilities.
• Pokémon Expansion: Adds Pokémon from newer Generations and updates base stats and other Pokémon info.
• Item Expansion: Adds items from newer Generations and also updates item effects for field use.
• Following Pokémon: Adds the Player's lead party Pokémon as a follower in the overworld.
• DexNav: Adds a DexNav feature with search and detector modes.

Who maintains the project?

The project is currently being developed by Karl and Ray, with general support from WiserVisor.

How to Build?

There is currently no stable release available to build. However, you can play our original project at PokeCommunity.

Can I contribute to Pokémon Darkfire?

Yes! Contributions are welcome via Pull Requests and they will be reviewed by Karl. Alternatively, you are welcome to provide feedback in the Pokémon Darkfire Discord Server.
