Notest

Setup

For the app to work, you need to create a .env.local file at the project root directory and copy and paste the following:

NEXT_PUBLIC_OPENAI_API_KEY=
MONGODB_URI=mongodb+srv://testuser:HlmE6UHlLWNu6j5P@notesttest.sss54.mongodb.net/Notest?retryWrites=true&w=majority

You can obtain your API key at https://beta.openai.com/account/api-keys, and paste it as the value of NEXT_PUBLIC_OPENAI_API_KEY in the above environment file.

The MONGODB_URI has already been provided to you (the TA) in order to locally run the project (testuser made just for this purpose). We each have our own URI. For those simply wanting to view the latest deployment, simply go to http://notest-hyper.vercel.app.

Getting Started

First, install the dependencies:

npm install

Then run the development server:

npm run dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.js. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

API routes can be accessed on http://localhost:3000/api/hello. This endpoint can be edited in pages/api/hello.js.

The pages/api directory is mapped to /api/*. Files in this directory are treated as API routes instead of React pages.
