conclusion

  1. Fiber比Multi-thread可以节省很多CPU调度开销,running状态的thread/fiber越多,Fiber的性能优势越明显
  2. Multi-thread如果并发线程不是很高的情况下,性能也不错,和Fiber的差距不明显,而且驱动,库和代码兼容性相比Fiber更容易处理
  3. 在这个简单测试当中,Sinatra和Grape同样跑多线程,性能差异非常小

recommendation

  1. 对IO并发不是非常高的场景下,推荐用多线程跑sinatra/grape,性能相当好
  2. 对IO并发要求很高的场景下,推荐用fier跑sinatra/grape,相比多线程,CPU消耗有明显下降
  3. Sinatra和Grape没有太大性能差异,Sinatra内置模版功能,Grape的API功能很强大,如果需要用到模版渲染,建议使用Sinatra;如果是纯json/xml API,推荐Grape
  4. 多线程服务器,推荐使用Rainbows
  5. 用Grape跑Fiber,推荐Goliath;用Sinatra跑Fiber,推荐Thin
  6. Sinatra Fiber运行在Thin上面,似乎比 Grape on Goliath性能略好一点
