Middlebury Data Study Group

Welcome! This Study Group is based at Middlebury College, in Middlebury, VT. The facilitators of this group are Ryan Clement, Data Services Librarian, and Kristy Golubiewski-Davis, Digital Liberal Arts CLIR Post Doctoral Fellow. We're excited that you're interested in learning more about data, coding, and reproducible research with us! You can reach us at rclement@middlebury.edu or kgolubiewskidavis@middlebury.edu.

This Middlebury Study Group is an informal meetup of friends and colleagues to share skills, stories, and ideas on using code for research and exploring open research practices. The goal is to create a friendly, no-pressure environment where people can share their work, ask for help on a coding problem, and learn and work together with their peers.

Our first meetings started in February 2017. We started our study by working through the book Humanities Data in R together, and are currently still working through this book. This book is available as an ebook here if you are affiliated with Middlebury. All of our meeting agendas, helpful notes, and answer keys are available in our meetings folder.

If you're interested in participating, please fill out our brief survey to let us know about your interest and your experience level.

How to Set Up Your Own Mozilla Study Group Website

Everything you need to set up your own beautiful Mozilla Study Group website (it looks like this!) for organizing events is right here in the Orientation Guide. If you are new to GitHub, don't worry, there's an introduction to it here. Take a look, and if you need any help, you can ask a question in the Gitter chat or email sciencelab@mozillafoundation.org.

It's Broken, I Need Help!!!

If anything in these instructions doesn't work or doesn't make sense, ask a question us a question at rclement@middlebury.edu or kgolubiewskidavis@middlebury.edu.
