Ushahidi v3 on OpenShift
This git repository helps you get up and running quickly w/ an Ushahidi v3 installation on OpenShift. The backend database is MySQL and the database name is the same as your application name (using $_ENV['OPENSHIFT_APP_NAME']). You can name your application whatever you want. However, the name of the database will always match the application so you might have to update .openshift/action_hooks/build.
Running on OpenShift
Create an account at http://openshift.redhat.com/ and install the client tools (run 'rhc setup' first)
Create a php-5.3 application (you can call your application whatever you want)
rhc app create lamu php-5 mysql-5 --from-code=https://github.com/rjmackay/openshift-lamu.git
That's it, you can now checkout your application at:
http://lamu-$yournamespace.rhcloud.com
You'll be prompted to set an admin password and name your Ushahidi site the first time you visit this page.
Notes
GIT_ROOT/.openshift/action_hooks/deploy: This script is executed with every 'git push'. This will do basic setup and run minion migrations.
Security Considerations
This quickstart needs improvement to make OpenShift automatically generate unique secret keys for your deployment and load them into config files.
