Did you know kubernetes manages multiple nodes but does not manage multiple clusters out of the box? KubeStellar adds multi-cluster support to Kubernetes
- just point your kubectl client at KubeStellar and deploy your exisiting kubernetes objects to any remote cluster - no wrapping required
- use rule-based customization (grouping) to automate the customization of your large-scale deployments (just like kustomize)
- sync your workload across your pre-existing remote clusters
- up-sync any object, not just status from your remote clusters
- support clusters that are disconnected or have intermittent connectivity
- lightweight logical cluster support (KubeFlex, kcp, kind, etc.)
- scalability - scale to a large number of objects, overcoming default Kubernetes limitations
We have defined and largely completed the PoC2023q1. The current activity is refining the definition of, and producing, the PoC2023q4. Goals not addressed in that PoC are to be explored later.
