If you’ve never participated in Hacktoberfest, it’s super easy, you just make a total of 4 pull requests to any open source repository (GitHub/GitLab) and then you score a free t-shirt with this year’s design OR a tree planted in your name. Your pull request contribution can be as simple as a typo correction or adding a line of CSS.
Step 1: sign up for Hacktoberfest
Step 2: make a total of 4 PRs on participating projects by the end of October (like this one!)
Step 3: GET FREE SHIRT (or 🌳)
Get as weird as you want! Glitter blood font, animated ooze, gifs, --you name it! The nature of the site is collaborative and light hearted. Check out the Issues tab of this repo for additional ways to contribute - solving bugs, feature requests, etc.
To contribute: fork this repo, clone it to your machine, then create a new branch to add your content or changes before pushing up your branch and submitting a PR back to this repo. For those who are new to GitHub contributions (or just want a refresher) this resource is great to follow.

Once you have cloned the repo, drag the index.html file into your browsers search bar. You should see a path leading to that file (for example, mine is: file:///Users/jannahall/repos/wwc-tacky-spooky-site/index.html, but it depends on oh you have your repo organized) When you make & save changes to the HTML & CSS, you'll see them here!
