Version of python

Hello,
Can you clarify whether we should use python2 or python3? On the SnapATAC page it says:
"Python (>= 2.7 & < 3.0) (SnapTools) (highly recommanded for 2.7)"

But some of the dependencies require python 3.5 or above (ex leidenal).
