Series and episode number generator for Mediaportal 1.X
This application scans the EPG data of your MediaPortal MySql database and adds series and episode numbers to all episodes in EPG. Other applications with this features only update the epg data of series that have scheduled recordings set in MediaPortal.
If you start this application after running TV Movie EPG import (Clickfinder) and TvWishList there will be no recordings of seasons that you do not need anymore.
Please rename both template files in the config directory deleting the suffix _template and configure them to match your needs. The application will not start until you do. Do not change the value of the proxy. This is only a small application running on my server to make it possible not to provide my thetvdb.com api key to the users.
The pre-release MPEpisodeNumberGenerator 1.0 was tested using the following configuration:

The application does not support Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition at the moment.

- Unpack the application in a directory where you have both read and write permissions
- Rename or copy the template files in the config directory deleting the suffix "_template" in the filename and configure them to match your needs. You have to do this, or the application will not start.
- Change the config parameters so it will match to your TV server's configuration. The following parameters are mandatory and have to be changed: mysqldatabasepath, mediaportaldbuser, mediaportaldbpassword, mediaportaldbhost, mediaportaldbname.
- Edit the start script and add the following line: cd "path\to\your\MPEpisodeNumberGenerator"
- Start the application using the cmd script

The aim if you use this tool is, to have all episode numbers in the database at all time. To achieve this, you have to run it after the TV Movie EPG-Import, because after the import all data previously saved into the database will be lost.
One way is to use the option of the TV Movie EPG Importer (there is a text field in the configuration to start a tool with name episodescanner.exe). After some update of the EPG Importer (or of MediaPortal) this does not seem to work anymore, so LogExpert is an alternative.
LogExpert is a Windows tool to keep track of Logfiles. Futhermore it can start actions, if a specific search string was found in the logfile. To use this for MPEpisodeNumberGenerator you can do the following:
- Download and unpack LogExpert at http://logexpert.codeplex.com/
- Open your TV Movie Import Logfile with LogExpert
- In the application menu choose Options --> Highlights and triggers
- Configure "TVMovie: overall Import duration:" as search string (thanks to http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/members/d3ltoroxp.76230/)
- Activate the checkbox "Plugin" in the section "Actions" and use the "ProcessLauncher keyword plugin" with parameter "your\path\to\episodescanner.exe"
- You can change the color of the log line if you want to now, so you will see if it comes up
- Click on "Add" to add the line matcher
- Click on "Ok"
LogExpert should now start episodescanner.exe if the specified log line comes up
Serien- und Episoden-Nummer Generator für Mediaportal 1.X
Diese Applikation scannt die EPG-Daten einer MediaPortal MySql-Datenbank und fügt die Staffel- und Folgen-Nummern zu allen Folgen im EPG hinzu. Andere Applikationen mit diesen Funktionen aktualisieren die EPG-Daten nur für die Serien, zu denen Folgen zur Aufnahme in MediaPortal programmiert worden sind.
Wenn diese Applikation nach dem Start von TV Movie EPG import (Clickfinder) und TvWishList gestartet wird, werden keine Aufnahmen von TvWishlist mehr programmiert, die nicht benötigt werden.
Bitte benennt beide Template-Dateien im config-Verzeichnis um, indem das Suffix "_template" gelöscht wird und konfiguriert sie nach eurer Umgebung. Die Applikation wird nicht starten, bis ihr das tut. Ändert nicht den Wert des Proxys. Es handelt sich nur um eine kleine Applikation auf meinem Server, um es zu ermöglichen den thetvdb.com API Schlüssel nicht an die Benutzer auszuliefern.

Das Ziel von MPEpisodeNumberGenerator ist, immer alle Episoden- und Staffel-Nummern in der Datenbank verfügbar zu haben. Um das zu erreichen, muss man es jedes Mal nach dem TV Movie EPG Import starten, da nach diesem Lauf alle bereits gespeicherten Nummern wieder zurückgesetzt werden.
Eine Möglichkeit das zu erreichen ist es, die Option vom TV Movie EPG Importer zu nutzen (es gibt ein Text-Feld in der Konfiguration, um ein Tool mit dem Namen episodescanner.exe zu starten). Nach einem der Updates des EPG Importers (oder von MediaPortal) scheint das jedoch nicht mehr zu funktionieren, also ist LogExpert eine Alternative.
LogExpert ist ein Windows-Tool, um Logfiles zu überwachen. Außerdem kann man dort Start-Aktionen definieren, wenn eine bestimmte Such-Zeichenfolge im Logfile gefunden wurde. Um das für MPEpisodeNumberGenerator zu nutzen, kann man es wie folgt konfigurieren:
- Lade LogExpert herunter und entpacke es (http://logexpert.codeplex.com/)
- Öffne dein TV Movie Import Logfile mit LogExpert
- Wähle im Applikationsmenü Options --> Highlights and triggers
- Konfiguriere "TVMovie: overall Import duration:" als Such-Zeichenfolge (search string) (Danke an http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/members/d3ltoroxp.76230/)
- Aktiviere die Checkbox "Plugin" in der Sektion "Actions" und nutze das "ProcessLauncher keyword plugin" mit dem Parameter "dein\pfad\zu\episodescanner.exe"
- Optional: Ändere die Farbe der Logzeile, dann kann man es besser sehen, wenn der Trigger auftreten müsste
- Klicke auf "Add", um den "line matcher" hinzuzufügen
- Klicke auf "Ok"
LogExpert sollte episodescanner.exe nun starten, wenn die Logzeile gemeldet wird.
