Local Machine Architecture

Kubernetes Cluster

If you need to setup a kubernetes cluster you can use the below configuration in Google Cloud to get one.

Certificates

Istio CA Certs Architecture

  1. Generate root-ca and copt to kubernetes from the 1-certificates folder

Istio CA Certs Architecture

  1. Copy istio-cacerts to istio-system

since cert-manager secrets are not compatible with Istio currently we need to reconstruct the secret by downloading the secret and creating a new one in istio-system

Local Machine Setup

In order to connect to the gateway we need to obtain the gateways external IP and set it in the envoy configurations
