yum-lag
Yum plugin to allow excluding updates newer than a given period. Intended to allow simple update staging
Installation
To manually install, put lag.py in /usr/lib/yum-plugins/ and put lag.conf
in /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/.
Configuration
Configuration options are explained in lag.conf. You can also use the
exclude_newer_than and check_mode options in the repo config sections to
override the global values. The exclude_newer_than option can be set to 0
to prevent the exclusion check altogether (for an individual repo or globally).
Usage
Nothing special needs to be done to use the plugin, though note that it only
applies to the update and upgrade YUM commands and is bypassed for install
and etc. The plugin also adds a --exclude-newer-than option to override both
the global and per-repo exclude_newer_than options.
Technical Notes
The plugin looks at the time_file (RPM file mtime) and time_build (RPM
BuildDate) to determine the update's age (from the primary repodata). These do
not necessarily (and probably won't) correspond to when they first appear
available to update to. Unforunately there's no easy way to track that, it would
be much more complicated if possible at all so this will have to work for now.
