What's important for causing delays?

Is it the destination Airport?

What about the Airline?

Was it where the plane came from?

Time of day?

????????

Too many questions, not enough answers...

Let's next use an AI to figure out what is important...

and to add in some weather data.

Meet Ki

He might seem a little absent minded today, his brain is being virtualized in a virtual machine.

Preparing for the Date

  1. Go to Desktop and select Ki

  2. Enter +++admin+++ as the password.

  3. Click the [Datasets] at the right. You are currently in the Projects Screen

  4. Select the three datasets and Create Project

  5. Name the project whatever you like

  6. The AFE setting will autopopulate, set the following relationships !IMAGE[Ki Relationships.PNG](Ki Relationships.PNG)

[!hint] If you click into the text box, you can type the name of the variable in the select box and it will filter the list.

[!hint] Pay careful attention to the Arrival vs Depature. A plane departing needs to be paired with the Origin.

  1. Click [Next]

  2. Select [Minimize]

  3. Select [ArrDelay] for drop down menu

  4. Click [Next]

  5. Don't Click [Execute AFE]

  • The list is order by which factor is the most impactful.
  • Top Insight says that how long a flight is matter the most.
  • Second insight is more interesting, flights going to Frisco is the most likely to be be delayed.
  • Also the IATA airline is a very large factor determining delays.
  1. Find the insight: [Origin.Wind Direction_2]
  • Left click the insight
  • It says that when the wind direction is between 60o and 169o, the delays will be much larger.
  • This is heavily cross winded to runway 1L and 1R

Exporting Our Dashboard

  1. Left click [Workflow] near the top left.

  2. Left click the right most bubble [Ki - AFE Output].
