FISHR is an open-source project that was developed at the University of Colorado, Boulder that is used in genetic analysis. It is written in C++. I began building and maintaining the code and making updates in November 2013.
polyglot
Polyglot is a web-based tool for learning foreign languages. Different people learn things in different ways. What is unique about Polyglot is that it aims to let users learn a language in a way that makes sense to them. It currently supports Japanese, and will begin supporting Spanish soon. Polyglot is written in HTML5/CSS3/jQuery/Javascript/PHP/MySQL.

Zara For Days was an experimental big-data project that pulled tweets using a keyword and then performed sentiment analysis to track trends in socia media.
