Slinky is a simple Google Chrome extension for the popular Slack application. With Slinky you can easily share with your Slack team links, images, text as you browse.

Slinky is a project that was created mainly for personal use & for friends, colleagues. It utilizes the API of the famous Slack application but is not created by, affiliated with, or supported by Slack Technologies, Inc.

Main Features

  • Share your current tab with your team's channel
  • Share your current tab with a user or any channel or group your have access to
  • Add optional message while sharing your current tab
  • Menu that helps you share links, text, images from your current tab with your team

Installation

  1. Clone the repo and bower install

  2. Go to Chrome settings (tab 'Extentions') and load it as unpacked

  3. Launch the app!

Slinky is also available through Chrome Web Store

Usage

  • First launch will prompt you to add a Slack token in your options for authentication. You can find a token here).
  • Then you can share stuff by opening the extention popup or using the extention menu with a right click (this requires having set a default channel in your options).
