Differences Between Warp Copy and MC CP

I opened an issue roughly a month ago in relation to this issue: minio/mc#4680, but have not heard back yet. Hoping to follow up on it.
In summary, I was noticing nearly 3 times the upload speeds when I benchmarked using warp vs mc cp to move files. As someone fairly new to the GO programming language, I was hoping to get some clarity as to why there is such a stark difference in upload speeds, and whether this is a bug with the mc command, or warp is doing something clever under the hood to achieve such better performance.
