English Phonetic Keyboard

phon_gw contains English Phonetic Keyboard layout for Windows.

It was tested and used only on Windows 7.

After installation of phon_gw you will be able to type phonetic characters, such as ʌ, ʃ, ʊ, ɔː, æ using shotcuts LeftAlt+X and LeftAlt+Shift+X, for example:

LeftAlt+s ʃ
LeftAlt+u ʊ
LeftAlt+Shift+o ɔː
LeftAlt+Shift+E æ

Latest binary distribution is available at BinTray.com: Download

To install phon_gw proceed with the following procedure:

  1. Download zipped archive
  2. Unzip downloaded file
  3. Run setup.exe

When setup has finished you will have a new keyboard layout named something like English (United Kingdom) Phon2 (In Polish version of Windows 7 the new keyboard layout is named En (Wielka Brytania) Phon 2).

The source file phon_gw.klc is located under phon_gw/src/ directory.

It was created with The Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator:

To compile source file:

  1. Download and install The Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator

  2. Run The Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator

  3. Open phon_gw/src/phon_gw.klc file

  4. Select Project/Build DLL and Setup Package from main menu
