ESP8226 10Hz GPS Tracker

In fall 2016 I started going to the race track and wanted to track my lap time. I used “Harry’s Laptimer” since it seemed to be the best app you can get for this purpose. I used my IPhone to do so but shortly I realized that the time tracked was not very reliable. Professional laptimers were to expensive and I decided to build a 10Hz laptimer myself. So I was looking for a cheaper way of tracking. The first build was a bluetooth device I found through a google search. The code for this and a short description with the setup can be found in the folder bluetooth. Unfortunately iOS was not able to connect to the GPS. After another google search and looking through the specs of the app, I saw, that iOS only supports external Wifi GPS devices. So I looked what I could do about this. I passed by the ESP 8226 Wifi module and it seems worth a try.

So here is the documentation of the process and links to the websited and documents I used to make this project work. Any help and support is highly welcome!
