Our ambition is to train the largest ever Large Language Model (LLM), harnessing the unique strengths of the Bittensor network's and in a completely decentralised manner. Our approach is rooted in transparency and open collaboration in the AI space.
An overview of the "LMSYS Chatbot Arena Leaderboard" highlights the predominance of proprietary models. Our endeavor seeks to challenge this norm, ushering in a new phase of open and inclusive AI development practices.
After a period of intense experimentation and evaluation, we have successfully trained our inaugural model (tinygpt2), marking the first ever incentivized distributed training over the internet (incentivized with TAO).
We are currently in our next project phase (training a slightly larger GPT2 model - 677m params), and we invite you to join our mission by dedicating your computational resources towards this training run. All you have to do is run a miner, and it may just change the world.

Hivetrain uses a simmple score assignment system designed to reward users for their participation and adherence to network guidelines. The system evaluates two critical aspects of user behavior: responsiveness and loss values. By applying a set of predefined rules, we aim to foster a healthy and productive network environment where all participants are incentivized to contribute positively. Whilst maintaining network integrity with few gameable variables.
Users who actively respond to network activities and maintain their losses within an acceptable threshold are awarded a score of 1.0. This top score reflects exemplary user behavior and strict adherence to network standards, highlighting the user as a model participant. Responsive Users with Unacceptable Loss:
Active users whose losses exceed the acceptable limits receive a reduced score of 0.3. While these users are engaged, the score signifies the need for improvement in managing their network activities to align with expected performance metrics. Non-responsive Users:
Users who fail to respond to network prompts or activities are assigned a baseline score of 0.1. This score acts as a safety mechanism, ensuring that users are not severely penalized for inactivity during periods of network-wide disruptions. It is a minimal support to maintain user engagement, even when external factors affect their ability to participate.

Before you start, ensure your system meets the following requirements:
- Your machine meets the minimum hardware requirements for mining on subnet 25: miner/validator GPU - 16GB RAM e.g. RTX A4000.
- You have the requisite amount of tao in your wallet for registration fees (approx. 0.00001 Tao at the time of writing).
- This repository requires python3.8 or higher.
