Telegram Gemini Bot

A telegram bot which answers to messages with Gemini API.

You can reply to messages for keeping the context of your conversation:

Prerequisites

A Telegram Bot Token,
A Google API key, and
A machine which can build and run golang applications.

Configurations

Create a configuration file:

$ cp config.json.sample config.json
$ $EDITOR config.json

and set your values:

You can get appropriate model names from here.

If db_filepath is given, all prompts and their responses will be logged to the SQLite3 file.

Build

Run

Run the built binary with the config file's path:

$ ./telegram-gemini-bot path-to/config.json

Run as a systemd service

Createa a systemd service file:

Todos / Known Issues

Handle returning messages' size limit (Telegram Bot API's limit: 4096 chars)
- Will send a plain-text document instead of an ordinary text message. (Won't work when the stream_messages option is true)
Add an option for enabling message streaming.
- Will update message texts with streamed messages.
Add ways of informing users about the status of background processes.
- Will add reactions on successfully received or generated messages.
Process media files properly.
Handle markdown texts gracefully.
