Hi there, it's great to meet you! My name is Marky Jackson, and I'm passionate about spending time with family and friends and rooting for the San Francisco Giants.
I graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in computer science. Throughout my career, I've had the pleasure of collaborating with top companies such as Blue Cross of California, Yahoo!, Symantec, HP, AT&T Labs, Sysdig, Hightail (formerly Yousendidit), Equinix Metal (formerly Packet), and Jasmine Multimedia.
Additionally, I'm proud to have served in the United States Army, supporting operations in Iraq and Afghanistan during multiple phases.

I was previously a Jenkins Goverence Board as well as the Jenkins Events Officer, am currently a Kubernetes Org member, previously a Kubernetes project moderator co-lead, once a Kubernetes Release Manager Associate, formerly a Continuous Delivery Foundation Ambassador, once a Jenkins core contributor, previously a Jenkins Google Summer of Code org admin and mentor, formerly a Google Summer of Docs org admin and mentor, previously helped with software development, and community management on the Ortelius Project, formerly a mentoring lead within the Kubernetes project, previously a Kubernetes Moderation Co-lead, as well as a previous Kubernetes Outreachy coordinator for the Kubernetes project, previously helped with software development on the Falco Project, previosuly a member of several Kubernetes release teams in a shadow capacity, previously served on the board of directors for Operation Dvoretskyi, and formerly a maintainer of several Jenkins plugins.
I have had profiles in the CNCF and other mediums. In the past, I have spoken publicly and enjoyed writing blogs on technical topics. Previously, I was named the Most Valuable Jenkins Advocate, and at KubeconNA 2022, I was awarded the Kubernetes Contribex Contributor award.
