Surface Pro 3 Hackintosh With Touch Working

OpenCore based Hackintosh on Surface Pro 3 (May work with some modification on Surface Pro 1/2)

Full support for macOS version 10.14.X through 12.X.X. Partial support for macOS version 13.X.X

If you see anything that could be added or changed don't hesitate to make a pull request.

*** NOTICE ***

  • macOS Ventura now has beta support. Graphics Acceleration is now supported using OpenCore legacy patcher. Additionally, restarting/shut-down in Ventura causes a Kernel Panic due to the Surface Keyboard. I am working on possible solutions to all of these issues but advise that you stay on macOS Monterey or older.

  • Do not update kexts labeled as "custom" manually, instead wait for an update. Kexts have been modified to support the Surface and generic kexts WILL break support.

  • Upon first installation you must go to Settings and disable "Force Touch" in the trackpad settings for the Surface Trackpad to function properly

  • Due to quirks in the Surface Pro 1/2/3 firmware, dual booting with Windows is problematic.

  • Secure boot: In order to boot with secure boot on a key must be registered otherwise secure boot must be turned off. Please see instructions in Chapter 9 to register the secure boot key and boot with secure boot turned on

  • Touch works however you will need to tap the screen several times in a row until it registers (approx 10 times). Once registered it will work as expected until reboot.
