User Stories

The following required functionality is complete:

  • User can enter a bill amount, choose a tip percentage, and see the tip and total values.
  • Settings page to change the default tip percentage. I updated the code to show split bill and total value

The following optional features are implemented: extra page is to change colors

  • UI animations
  • Remembering the bill amount across app restarts (if <10mins)
  • Using locale-specific currency and currency thousands separators.
  • Making sure the keyboard is always visible and the bill amount is always the first responder. This way the user doesn't have to tap anywhere to use this app. Just launch the app and start typing.

The following additional features are implemented:

  • List anything else that you can get done to improve the app functionality!
  • UX improved
  • default_tip and subtotal is automatically saved(not split bill)
  • dark theme in setting page
  • change UX in setting page

Notes

I had a hard time testing out the saving, and whether or not have the saving the default tip on the setting page or on the splash page. Ultimately, I choose to automatically save when the view is closing, and loading when the view is appearing. I also decided not to save the split amount, because you don't usually split the bill(assumption). I didn't do the locale, because I am not familar where to start. As for the UI animations, I watch some videos but couldn't really make any work.
