The iNat Shortcuts extension enhances the iNaturalist upload interface by adding convenient keyboard shortcuts for common actions. This project aims to streamline the observation upload process, making it quicker and more efficient for users.
This Chrome extension adds keyboard shortcuts for the following actions in the iNaturalist upload interface:
- F - Fusion of observations.
- D - Duplication of observations.
- R - Removing an observation.
- C - Toggling the Captive/Cultivated checkbox.
The intention is to provide a faster workflow for iNaturalist users by minimizing the need to navigate through UI elements with the mouse or touchpad.
To install the iNat Shortcuts extension, follow these steps:
- Download or clone this repository to your local machine.
- Open Chrome and navigate to
chrome://extensions/
. - Enable Developer Mode by toggling the switch in the top-right corner.
- Click on "Load unpacked" and select the directory where you cloned or extracted the extension.
Once installed, the extension will be active on the iNaturalist upload interface. Simply press the designated keys to perform the corresponding actions:
- F to fuse observations.
- D to duplicate an observation.
- R to remove an observation.
- C to toggle the Captive/Cultivated checkbox.
