Background
Why did you want to make this app? What was your development process like?
Features
- Incorporated login via LinkedIn with the OmniAuth gem
- Harnessed the Stripe API to allow sponsors to contribute funds to students
- Built a flexible search feature to allow sponsors to search based on name, college, gender, and/or email
- Added the CarrierWave Direct gem to upload images that prove a student's need (bills, syllabi, etc.) to Amazon S3
- Implemented an ActionMailer notification email to trigger when a sponsor follows a student
