WALLED CITY

The high walls have protected the city for many generations. Calm yourself by the reflecting pool. Visit the bazaar.

[Host asks if player is leaving today, etc] Player walks outside [They see a pasture, and tents, and their flock in graze mode.] [The flock indicator shows that the player has ten sheep, properly fed and watered.] Player walks to flock [Long-hold indicator appears above flock: "Shepherd (x)"] Player indicates intent "shepherd" by long-holding the x button [Long-hold indicator moves to pasture itself, now saying: "Graze (y)"] [Flock-related quests show up in a quest log, one of which is highlighted: "Increase the flock"] Player leaves the camp [Passage to desert...] Player explores the desert, finds clues, investigates wonders/caves, grows the flock...

-1413 AX First temple to Atrakarata is raised in the southern wastes

-1012 AX Founding of Nelos. Atrakarata's cult gains power and influence in the north.

-950 AX Nelos is an active trading hub with the east, becoming a important regional power

-912 AX The Federation of Nel is founded, as a republic. Nomads faithful to Atrakarata roam in Nem'ea.

-831 AX Rise of Umas in the far east

-739 AX Xuno, First Emperor of Nel, accedes to the throne after the high court of Nelos dissolves the senate.

-736 AX Surviving members of Nel's "Last Senate", who have become the leaders of a revolutionary insurgency, are silenced

-689 AX Xuno dies. Nel conquers territory near Nem'ea.

-561 AX Niv'eh is dry for a generation. Nel builds a trade route across the desert

-489 AX The deserts of Nem'ea are mapped by explorers. Umas first sends diplomats to Nel

-132 AX First war between Nel and Umas Aaqib is born

-129 AX Accord of Nemos

-127 AX Polymetes is born

-126 AX Burning of Umasan farms by Nelian irregulars

-125 AX Umas retaliates by arming fishing vessels and barricading Nel trade routes

-124 AX The Nemian Accord is broken; full-scale hostilities resume Economic crisis in Nel provoked by trade disruptions.

-119 AX Polymetes becomes a Nelian regional commander stationed at Udrak

-109 AX Polymetes defeats Aaqib at Amdrea, ending the Second War

-105 AX FOUNDING OF ATAST. The temple to Atrakarata is raised.

-91 AX
Polymetes dies. The great towers of Atast rise above the walls.

-87 AX
Umas collapses. Atast becomes the capital of Nel. Imperial Atast flourishes.

-65 AX Cult of Atrakarata's exoteric teachings are enshrined as a state religion. Strange rumors of mechanical or magical innovations in Atast.

-4 AX Burning of Atast. The tower archives are damaged. (By this point we know some of the tower sublevels and catacombs had been dug out.)

0AX GREAT FLOOD. Nel is scoured, and retreats from Nem'ea. Atast becomes a free city, and flourishes.

103 AX Atastean walls collapse due to lack of maintenace.

213 AX Niv'eh, which is life to Atast, goes dry. ATAST IS DEPOPULATED.

415 AX Last tower of Atast falls.

594 AX New Atast is founded on the site of the old Atastean outpost at the western border with Nel.
