Player passengers

It could be interesting for players to choose to abandon or park their own ships, and travel merely as passengers on someone else's (another player's, or maybe also an AI's) ship.

This could be used as a sort of "spectator" feature (to watch someone else play), but could also tie into specific missions. Perhaps the passengers could also take roles on the other player's ship--like manning some of the weapons or something like that.
