Author: James Petterson

External dependencies

  • R (version used: 2.15.1)
  • R libraries:
    • doMC
    • caret
    • gbm
    • nnet
    • randomForest
    • reshape2
  • ruby (version used: 1.9.3p194)
  • Vowpal Wabbit (version used: 7.0.1)
  • word2vec (version used: 0.1b)

All modelling was done in a 4-core MacBook Pro laptop running OSX 10.8.5.

Notes on running the code

  • the path in config.R should point to the location where the data files are stored
  • both word2vec and vw are assumed to be in the search path
  • the code entry point is the file do.sh: it lists all commands that need to be executed to reproduce all results
