This project is part of the Machine Learning Curricular Unit @ FEUP.
In the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), a team's ability to strategize over a dynamic 10-year span is just as important to success as their ability to swish the net. There are a lot of different and unpredictable factors at play, which makes studying the sport a very hard task.
Nevertheless, it serves of value for different entities, such as bookmakers, sports teams and fans. This fact together with the recent increase in the availability of data justifies the employment of machine learning techniques to the problem.
Our machine learning experiment explores the complex WNBA landscape in an effort to forecast whichteams will win and make it to the playoffs in the next season.
