Using NYC Bike Sharing Data(NYC Citi Bike Data), to see if this bike sharing program would work in Des Moines. Before analysing the Bike Model sharing program in Des Moines we need to analysing NYC Bike sharing Data first.
- User Type - Bases on user type and gender, Subscibed Male has highs demand(usage).
- Tripduration - There is no signficant difference check out time on 'UNKNOWN' Gender but other Gender has most check out time between 4~6 hours.
- Trips - High volume of trips are take between 6
9 AM and 47 PM and during weekdays.
- Location - Most Activities are on Mid & down town of the City.
- NYC Citi Bike - Dash Board shows average trip duration is slightly increase over time and Gender Break down for users.
The Results are indicates that many bike sharing users are used for alternate transportaion for commute. Also bike sharing users are consist of Subscribers and Non Subscribers as half and half. Lastly there is highly usage for Male customers.
Since NYC is one of heavy traffic city and there are many City workers who commute from out side of NYC, so bike sharing would be a good idea for alternate transportation.
So to see if this model would work in Des Moines, it would be great idea to see how many commuters and how much traffic in Des Monies has during rush hours.
