Using Pewlett Hackard Employee DB, identify "silver tsunami" as many current employees reaching retirement age.

  • There are total of 90,398 of retiring employees and major impact position is Senior Engineer. This position has about 32.5% retiring employees.

  • There are total 1549 mentorship eligible employees.

  • To cover retiring employees, a Senior Engineer mentor needs to train 71.04 mentees, a Senior mentor Staff needs to train 89.41 and an Engineer mentor needs to train 49.04 mentess.

Summary

The company is anticipating "Silver Tsunami" as many current employess will leave. Top 3 Silver Tsunami impacted position would be Senior Engineer, Senior Staff, and Engineer. A mentor will have too many mentees, especially on Senior title postion where the mentor need to trian about 89 mentees per mentor. To minimize the impact the company can improve traning system to fulfil Mentor system to digest about 90 mentees at a time. Start hiring exprieneced qulified new employees on the position can be another solution for the impact.
