NeXT icons for Mac OS X (macOS) 10.0-10.11

History

I originally created this iconset for Mac OS X 10.0. As a result, there are a few different packages with icons and resources for multiple versions of macOS.

Bugs

None of the graphical resources have been tested with recent (10.10+) versions of Mac OS X (macOS).

The NeXT Logo Fade screensaver doesn't work on modern releases. Two versions are included; nextlogofade.pkg and next1055.pkg. Leopard is the last supported release. It is a patched version of the default Apple logo screensaver.

Rights

The sound files included here are probably still covered under Apple copyright, since some of them are included in recent systems. These are copied directly from Openstep 4.2, without any filtering or post-processing. They are presented here as a tribute.

Icon files were created by me using an old version of Photoshop, inspired by the groundbreaking work of Keith Ohlfs for NeXT.

Usage

Install the packages individually, or create an mpkg using Package Maker.
