Waste Management System
As we know, importance of waste management has always been a great concern nowadays. The world is sinking into the sea of waste. Every narrow nooks and corner of the streets are being piled up with waste. Waste management reduces the effect of waste on the environment, health, and so on. It can also help reuse or recycle resources, such as; paper, cans, glass, and so on. There is various type of waste management that include the disposal of solid, liquid, gaseous, or hazardous substances.
The ‘Waste Management System’ is a web application aimed to provide a digital way of complaining the concerns of general citizens to their relative municipalities.

Complaining about the waste problem encountered everyday to municipality is hefty process and waste management aims to make this process easier. With a simple handheld device with access to internet, user can use this platform complain their concerns to municipality . The automated system will redirect the complains .The municipality admins at the receiving side can acknowledge the reports which lets the users whether their complain is adddressed or not.

Requirements for the project
You need to setup XAMPP/WAMP or LAMP(in case you are using any Linux distributions) on your local system, along with phpMyAdmin, MySQL Database and Apache web server. Once you have installed and configured XAMPP successfully on your system, you are ready to setup this project on your system.
How to setup this Project locally
- First
Forkthe repository,by clicking tab on the right most corner. - Go to the directory where you have installed XAMPP, by default directory should be C:/xampp. Open htdocs folder, then open git bash there, type
git clonealong with the fork's link of this repository, that is,git clone https://github.com/your-username/Waste-Management-System.git. All the necessary files would be cloned there. - Then, you need to setup SQL database on phpMyAdmin through this link - http://localhost/. You just need to import wms.sql file there, after creating a new database.
- Then, open your browser, open this link http://localhost/Waste-Management-System/. This will open homepage of the web application. Now you have successfully setup the project in your system.
- Use the project. Do the desired changes if you want in the codebase, make a pull request. A PR would be highly appreciable.
