The hseifert/nagoya-lookup-service repository provides a web service based on an integrated database to extract Nagoya Protocol information from combined third party sources. It is a modular lookup service based on GPS coordinates to check indications on Nagoya requirements. Using latitude, longitude and a search radius the service checks possible nearby country borders that might need to be considered and more importantly whether these countries have signed the Nagoya Protocol or not.

To get a copy of this project on your local machine for development or testing purposes simply clone the repository using
git clone https://github.com/hseifert/nagoya-lookup-service
To start the service, move to the root directory containing the file called "local.yml".
Use docker-compose -f local.yml build --no-cache
to build the three containers from scratch
Use docker-compose -f local.yml up --force-recreate
to start and initialize the service.
Once the debugger is active the API can be used to access the information from the containers (database).
Use http://localhost:8000/nagoya/gislookup/-5.825922,51.968407/
(exchange longitude, latitude with you own coordinates) to interact with the REST API
Or
Use http://localhost:8000/nagoya/lookup/
to go to the graphical user-friendly interface to make database queries using the form.
