This is a quick and dirty little scraper to automatically fill out the form on defendkidstx.com and hopefully make Texas’ life a little harder when it comes to harassing queer people. It will run indefinitely, although it will occasionally require you to fill out a captcha to submit the form.
Confirmed to work on Linux and Windows, should work out of the box on Mac.

Make sure you have python installed

Clone the repository and
cd defend_kids -
pip install -r requirements.txtto install all the requirements. -
In the
.envfile, change “CHROME_VERSION” to whatever version of chrome you’re running- this should be in Chrome > Settings > About Chrome. -
(optional) See the Anti-captcha section to setup automatic captcha solving.

python autofill.pyin the command line to start filling out the site.
Right now it just fills out the “info” box on the form with a markov-chain generated text from Moby Dick, but you’re welcome to put your corpus of choice into “corpus.txt”
Important: you may need to fill out a CAPTCHA to submit the form. If this happens, go ahead and fill it out and MAKE SURE TO HIT THE “SUBMIT” button.
The scraper should automatically wait until you’ve done so, and alert you in the terminal.
Optional anti-captcha support is implemented using [anti-captcha.com]. It is a commercial product and requires "credits" to be purchased and used to solve the recaptcha challanges. You will need to sign up and get an API key to enable anti-captcha support. Once signed up, your API key can be found by going to Settings -> API Setup. Add your API key to .env as the ANTICAPTCHA_API_KEY variable.
If ANTICAPTCHA_API_KEY is not set to a valid API key, anti-captcha support is automatically disabled and the program will continue running with manual captcha entry.
Please be aware that every loop of the program will request a captcha solution, even if it is not needed. A check needs to be implmented to avoid unneccesary solution requests.
Don't worry if you see this!
They’re using cloudflare to prevent DDoS attacks, so if this pops up, just wait a bit. The scraper will automatically reload and eventually you it should be able to access the page.
They’re doing some mildly clever stuff to try and get around automating this process, and it’ll probably change as it goes along. Please, for the love of god, feel free to fork or make pull requests to update this, especially if you have a better solution for evading captchas.
